Watch out for the "Empty/Sardine Box" scam.
Paypal won't get involved.
Paypal state:
As stated in our User Agreement, the claims process only applies to the delivery of goods.
It does not apply to complaints about the attributes or quality of goods received. Therefore, we are unable to reverse this transaction or issue a refund.
Scam works as follows:
1) Buyer pays for an item, and Seller posts an empty box (or tin of sardines) - Signed For/Recorded Delivery.
Seller has proof of delivery.
Buyer is shafted.
2) Buyer pays for goods, Seller sends goods. Gods are delivered OK.
Buyer asks for refund, and sends EMPTY BOX ( or Tin of Sardines) back to Buyer (Signed For/Recorded Delivery). Buyer has proof of return delivery.
Seller is shafted.
It's a license for dishonest fraudulent traders to run riot.

thescambaiter.com/forum has forums especially for ebay scam killers. In this situation I would suggest you PM the mod over there for those forums and let them know, they can take a look at them and they are very experienced at spotting these scams so they'll know right away if it is or not, and they'll also know who to contact at Ebay to sort it.. if ebay scam killing is something you want to take up that's the home for you :)

I think the easiest way is just to click the "Report this item" link at the bottom of any active listing you are concerned about. That way it has the item number so all you need is to select the reason and send (or sometimes give an explanation if it's more complicated).

I think I need to just give up on this - the whole scheme / scam is just too prolific!
If you search "trademark (bike, bicycle)" on ebay worldwide you get 91 hits for similar items from numerous sellers. Some sellers are new or have little feedback (waj0506, tingtingting168, osfehwh) while another like the first one has a heap of "antique" type stuff and even feedback for a bike frame (kaihuabazhima - identical text and spelling mistakes to gaogan73). Pictures nearly always have the freebike.net watermark on them. Clearly people are prepared to bid on these auctions and they could even be legit, but they seem completely dodgy to me and there are too many of them to do anything about it.

One person can do a lot of damage, even with only a little bit of spare time. ;) Especially when you know what you're doing like those ebay scamkiller guys do. It's not an area I am a specialist in - I'm more of an audio baiter. Yelling at scammers ia a lot of fun, especially when they're paying to call you!

I have reported some of these items, but there are just so many that it is impossible to even find them all. If it is happening in bikes, I have no doubt that there are other areas of the market too (electronics, cameras etc) where fake vendors just appear or trade fairly for a while before submitting all the fake listings. With ebay getting so big now, there are lots of gullible new users looking for a bargain who are going to get burned by this sort of thing.

I ended up getting the seller who was listing in ebay.com.au taken down. My "friends" all won auctions, and after the sale the seller emailed saying that paypal was not possible any more. Finally something blatantly illegal, and ebay took action.
Sadly, you get one of these scammers nuked and another one pops up. New target is "gadjet66" - looks like a hacked account but maybe just a more complicated scam (user located in France but shipping from Hong Kong, not that there is likely to be any shipping!). User has 12 feedback and all of a sudden is buying lots of items from Ebay China to get their rating up. Once rating is over 10, the "selling starts". This one doesn't even mention payment metho
